VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

While most of the programs and services provided by the Council require trained staff (teachers, counselors, interpreters and others), there are volunteer opportunities every month. The Yad B'Yad Social Group and the Keshet Social Group each meet twice a month for Sunday afternoon activities. Volunteers can join the group of 8-15 participants for holiday programs, arts and crafts, cooking, games, and occasional field trips to go bowling or play miniature golf. There are also special events such as children's concerts, picnics in the park and trips to the zoo during the year  when additional assistance is required.

Volunteer opportunities also arise during the year to assist with office projects, such as preparing large mailings of the newsletter, membership drive and other fund raising projects. Other volunteer jobs include making phone calls, updating the national resource directory and local disability resources.
