JEWISH SPECIAL EDUCATION INTERNATIONAL CONSORTIUM

http://www.jsped.org/

The Consortium was founded in 1985 by Rabbi Martin Schloss and Dr. Sara Rubinow Simon for the purpose of supporting special education programs in North American Jewish communities as well as providing resources to Jewish special educators through a professional network of their colleagues.  Members of the Consortium communicate throughout the year via a listserve and meet once a year to share ideas and materials to enhance and expand special education in Jewish educational settings.  Membership in the Consortium is limited to the special education representative designated by the community’s Central Agency for Jewish Education or Jewish Federation. The Consortium is currently co-chaired by Dr. Shana Erenberg and Becca Hornstein.

Visit the Consortium’s website at www.jsped.org for special education materials and links to additional resources

The Council For Jews With Special Needs hosted the annual Consortium gathering in Scottsdale in May, 2003 and May, 2009.
