SPECIAL EDUCATION
The Council offers special education programs and assistance to all of the local Jewish preschools, day schools, supplemental schools, high school and adult education classes. The Council's Education Inclusion Consultants are available to visit each school, observe students and meet with the teachers to discuss strategies for educational success in regular classes. For congregational Sunday schools that provide special education assistance, the Council accepts requests for grants.
The Council's special education staff is available for teacher and classroom aides training. At this time, there is no fee for staff training.
There is a fee to parents for an initial observation of an individual student and the meeting to discuss concerns and recommendations. An hourly fee is charged for additional inclusion assistance to individual students in the classroom. Financial assistance for these fees may be available.
